Death Toll from Colombia Mudslides Rises to 315

BOGOTA Ė The death toll from the floods and mudslides in the southern Colombian city of Mocoa rose to 315 on Sunday, the coronerís office said.

The latest report from the coronerís office said that 103 of the 173 people reported missing have still not been accounted for by officials.

Of the people killed in the natural disaster, 190 were females and 124 were males, and one individual whose gender could not be determined also died in the floods and mudslides.

The natural disaster was triggered by torrential rains on March 31 that caused the Mocoa, Sangoyaco and Mulatos rivers to overflow their banks and devastate several neighborhoods.
