Tottenham Defeats Southampton 2-1 despite Kane’s Absence

LONDON – Tottenham Hotspurs defeated Southampton 2-1 at White Hart Lane on Sunday in round 29 of the Premier League amid the absence of injured forward Harry Kane.

Christian Eriksen opened the score for Tottenham 14 minutes into the first half, before Dele Alli scored again for the Spurs at the 33-minute mark.

Southampton response came seven minutes into the second half through Ward-Prowse, although it was not enough to level.

Tottenham is now second place on the table with 59 points, trailing 10-points behind leaders Chelsea.

Manchester City is third with 56 points, and is currently hosting Liverpool, which is fourth with 66 points.

On the other hand, Southampton remains 10th with 33 points.
