Activists Denounce Violations of Truce in Syrian Province of Aleppo

BEIRUT Both government and rebel-held areas in the Syrian province of Aleppo were hit by bombings and rockets, a British war monitor denounced on Wednesday.

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said that unidentified warplanes attacked rebel-held areas in the west, south and north of the province, such as al-Mallah, Mansoura, Atarib, Khan al-Assal and al-Rashidin.

The bombings were accompanied by gunfire from government forces, which also targeted the town of Andan in the north of the province.

Areas under attack are in the hands of rebel and Islamic groups and no victims were registered.

Meanwhile, several people were injured by rockets in the district of New Aleppo in the provincial capital, which is in the hands of the Syrian army.

A ceasefire was agreed upon by Russia, allied with the government of Damascus, and Turkey, which supports the opposition, but it excludes terror groups, such as the Islamic State and the formerly al-Qaida-linked Jabhat Fateh al-Sham.
