The Mission calls on representatives of both sides and members of political parties to accept the results delivered by the Plurinational Electoral Body, which is the only competent authority for this task.
LA PAZ, BOLIVIA -- The Electoral Observation Mission (EOM) of the Organization of American States (OAS) in Bolivia, deployed to the constitutional referendum held on February 21, urged supporters of both sides and all citizens to remain calm as the final results are processed. The final vote count, which began the afternoon of the election, is being carried out with the presence of delegates in support of both the ‘Yes’ and ‘No’ vote, which guarantees transparency in the process. The Mission considers it important that all stages of the electoral process are concluded in an orderly fashion. As is widely known, there are channels established by current regulations for processing complaints. The Mission calls on representatives of both sides and members of political parties to accept the results delivered by the Plurinational Electoral Body, which is the only competent authority for this task. The OAS Mission will maintain a permanent presence until the conclusion of this final stage of the electoral process. |
