SAN JUAN – U.S. Customs and Border Protection in St. Thomas announced Monday the identification and apprehension of four U.S. citizens with active warrants during the past week.
On April 7, 35-year-old Gabriel Shabazz presented himself for CBP pre-departure inspection at Cyril E. King Airport in St. Thomas, before boarding a flight for Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, according to an official statement.
Shabazz had an outstanding warrant for his arrest on controlled-substances charges in Georgia.
The following day, Jason Davis, 35, was detained on the basis of an extradition warrant from Arizona, where he wanted for failure to appear on drug charges.
On April 9, Robert Carter was prevented from boarding a flight to Miami after CBP agents found e had an outstanding warrant for parole violation following a DUI conviction in Iowa.
Three days later, Kelly Ballard was identified at the airport for having two outstanding warrants on public order crimes in New York.
