BUENOS AIRES – Spanish actor Antonio Banderas received Friday the distinction of being pronounced Guest of Honor of Buenos Aires during an event at the Dorado Chamber of the legislature in the Argentine capital.
“Buenos Aires is a place to come back again and again and again. I’d love just to sit with my pals and get the feeling of this city that truly has that...I don’t know what, it’s hard to explain,” Banderas said after accepting the honor.
The president of the Buenos Aires legislature, Cristian Ritondo, thanked Banderas for visiting the city and added that “for your work, for the times you’ve come to Buenos Aires, you’re practically one of us.”
“When a character like Antonio comes along and he’s devoted to works of solidarity, to teaching theater to young students, it shows what a big person he is and that’s what the lawmakers were so aware of when they declared you Guest of Honor of Buenos Aires,” the culture minister of Buenos Aires, Hernan Lombardi, said.
During his visit to Argentina, Antonio Banderas took part this Thursday in a meeting with stage actors and a benefit gala at Garrahan Hospital in the Argentine capital.
