 SAN SALVADOR – Six people were killed and four others wounded early Friday when armed men opened fire on an intercity bus in the central province of La Paz, Salvadoran police said. The attackers were apparently wearing uniforms of Fondo Vial, the government agency responsible for road maintenance, media accounts said. The shooting took place near the town of San Luis Talpa as the bus was making a regularly scheduled run from the eastern province of Usulutan to San Salvador. Six people were pronounced dead at the scene, police said. The attackers began shooting at the bus from the roadside and continued firing after boarding the vehicle, according to the preliminary police report. |
