Taiwan is located in Southeast Asia between Hong Kong and Japan; surrounded by the Pacific Ocean,
Taiwan opened its doors to immigration, land cultivation, modernization, capitalization and industrialization; and October 10 marked the ninety-fourth anniversary of the Republic of China-Taiwan.
“Double Ten” Day, because it falls on October 10, the tenth day of the tenth month, this day celebrates the establishment of the Republic of China-Taiwan, Asia’s first republic, resulting from the pursuit of democracy led by Dr. Sun Yat-sen; and the people of Taiwan and overseas. Taiwanese came together for the rejoicing of the nation on National Double Ten Day with celebrations and festivals commemorating the 1911 Wuch’ang uprising; and throughout history, the Taiwanese people have been renowned for their industriousness and prudence, and for their characteristic pioneering spirit which forges ever onward. Through the ages, they have developed one area of this seemingly inexhaustible island after another.
They have transformed this bountiful and forever verdant treasure into one of the prosperous industrial areas in the Far East; and it is an honor to recognize the accomplishments of the great people of the Republic of China-Taiwan.
The beautiful and sober reception hosted by the honorable representation of the Republic of China-Taiwan in Venezuela at the Marriott Hotel, counted with sublime live string music in the background and the tables proudly embellished with the flags of both countries.
The delicious food offered to the guests made for a warm and friendly reception to benefit the relations between the Republic of China-Taiwan and Venezuela.
